Yet another business model for twitter
Revshare with US operators.
In the US, operators get up to 15c per text RECEIVED by mobile users.
Suppose twitter got just 1c per text Twitter sent.
Every time Robert Scoble goes to sleep Twitter would make about 200$
Admittedly, that’s assuming Scoble is followed to people’s mobile, which most people probably don’t. Unless they really like their mobiles vibrating. But Scoble eats, drinks, and blogs. So, not need to charge Robert.
Why would operators agree? Because this may allow twitter to continue to grow (generating more traffic). Think of the revenue loss for operators when Twitter is down and due to lost twits.
Does Twitter have these agreements? Does anyone have the statistics about texts usage in Twitter?
